These happy little antique coats are the epitome of traditional folk memorabilia, crafted in the 1940s/50s for tourists as a memento of their trip to Mexico. Made of a soft wool/felt-like fabric in a bold red hue, this sweet little jacket is hand embroidered with playful scenes of Mexican daily life, complete with a woman with a fruit basket as the centrepiece of the back. Small front pockets, a collar, full length sleeves, blanket stitched hems and a hip length complete the look.

I loved her back with denim and a white tee, or can be worn open over a pretty sundress. Super versatile. Super lovely.

Designed to sit open, no fastenings.

 

Condition: Good vintage condition with some visible wear consistent with age. This one has some embroidery missing in places and has had a few small hand repairs to the wool throughout. Some of the blanket stitching is missing from the edges and some of the embroidery is a little fluffy. Also the sleeve hems were taken up at some point and are not let down again, so there is a visible wear line. However, for a 70+ year old coat, it is wonderful.

 

Measurements: Armpit to armpit - 49cm flat, Waist - 50cm flat (also sits open), Length - 68cm.

No size tagged, I would estimate this would be suitable for around an XS/S, around a modern 6/8 in AUS sizing depending on desired fit/measurements. It is designed to be a relaxed fit.

Shipping

Dreamer Bohemia ships orders Monday/Wednesday/Friday and aims to dispatch packages within 48 hours of order placement. 

Domestic (Australian) shipping:

All domestic orders are shipped with Australia Post. The shipping options are $12.00 AUD for regular post and $17.50 AUD for express post. Bulky items (leather jackets/boots) are $17.50 AUD for regular shipping and $25 AUD for express.
Estimated timelines for deliveries are between 4-7 days for regular post, and 1-3 days for express post - all depending on location and Aust Post networks/delays.

 

International shipping:

All international orders are shipped via Australia Post which then transfers to the local shipping network in your delivery country. International delivery is $45 flat AUD via standard international shipping, or $75 AUD for bulky items. Please note we only ship to a limited number of international locations; if your country doesn't appear in the checkout we unfortunately are not able to ship to you at this point in time.

Please note we are not liable for any additional charges or duties that your package attracts through your country's customs process. We are legally obliged to declare the total value of each purchase and provide a commercial invoice if required.

You can track your order online and you will receive an email with tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

All orders are packaged with love using recycled materials in compostable mailers.
